Christmas wish list 2008!
Isn’t it awesome that we’re starting off the holiday season with a long weekend vacation? Yes it’s coming. Christmas! It’s everyone’s favorite holiday. A time of giving and a time of receiving, it’s the time where we act all happy and nice towards strangers and relatives alike. Yup! Economic crisis or not, we still go out and splurge our hard earned money instead of keeping it for the economic winter ahead. Come on, it’s not as if it’s the end of the world right? RIGHT? (more…)

Quote-olates
Each wrapper of Dove comes with a quote. I’ve decided to post each quote so one, I can share my thoughts on it; two, you can share your thoughts on it; and three, we can all keep track of how much chocolate I’ve consumed in this lifetime.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TREE
The picture below sums up everything that happened this weekend.
A LEFT TO RIGHT STORY. A tired Aimee watching TV with Tita Jett’s donation and a glowing tree.
Aimee’s generous Tita Jett gave out their old (but still good) bedsheets last Saturday. The Christmas tree we got on Sunday. It’s six feet tall. We were expecting that we’d have to slightly bend the tip of the tree because of our high ceiling. (more…)
RRRRRRRRRRRREALITY CHECK
Here’s my thought of a perfect Sunday morning when the wife and I used to live with my mom in Las Piñas.
It has three basic elements:
- A smiling or blank-staring (or both) wife lying beside me as she greets a new day by rubbing her eyes.
- Fried eggs and toasted tasty for breakfast plus orange juice.
- The sound of what’s playing in DZRJ owned by RJ (that’s Ramon Jacinto to you, young ‘uns) from my mom’s radio.
Nothing beats RJ’s taste in music. He’s good as advertised. Playing the latest and the greatest. He’s a very skilled guitarist. A rock and roll icon of the Philippines no doubt. I’m pointing out all the good things about the man because I think he’s a nice guy but there’s something that I need to say that’s been bugging me for weeks and this is about… (more…)
I think I almost got robbed
Chatting with my mom and dad over dinner, I naively told them about my experience earlier. On our way home after a game of badminton in Silang, Cavite, My friend and I stopped by an ATM machine fronting the Aguinaldo high way it was around 8:30pm. She had to withdraw some cash for an activity she have the following day. The bank was well lit but there were no signs of any security guards anywhere, maybe they’re inside the bank? I don’t know. Addicted to Plurk
Browsing through my past blog entries I stumbled upon my last year’s entry about the revolutionary way to connect with friends – Twitter. It’s the thing where you can leave stuff around regarding stuff that you do everyday?! Are you following me? No? Okay!
Anyway, after reading that damn awful post, I realized, I made an entry for Twitter and I guess it would only be fair if I make an entry about its baby brother – Plurk, which by the way, is much cooler than Twitter. (more…)
IF COSTUMES CAN KILL
Got this from Avatar’s comment from my recent entry:
showroom manager, you do not yet realize your importance. You have only begun to discover your power. Join me, and I will complete your training. With our combined strength, we can end this destructive conflict and bring order to the galaxy.
Soon, you will break. soon you will join me on the plurk side. I am your father! (pssshhh)
Great timing. I was about to post some pictures from my first Halloween party. Dressing up as my favorite nemesis was a blast. (more…)
It’s only words
Or so the song goes.
But words are so powerful. Sometimes, we let some of them go without thinking about the effect they will have on the person at the receiving end.
Sometimes, the people at the receiving end read too much between and beyond what was actually said.
