Marshmallows, stubborn dad and tsismis
First snowstorm of the year (it’s not even officially winter yet) and I did nothing but take pictures of the trees,

of the driveway

and of our front lawn.

Then I got tired of taking pictures of the trees and decided to take pictures of my family instead, so I can send them to my mom back home.
They were having a snowball fight so I decided to throw a few snowballs of my own. Yup, four against one. But I was using the camera as an excuse for them to stop throwing snowballs back at me.

I love how winter is the great equalizer. Everyone looks like marshmallows. Plus, everyone is fat. Yay!

I know, this is not much of a blog entry. I was really too busy dodging snowballs and making a snowman (which ended up looking like a little old lady) to take blog-worthy pictures.
And, I’m busy rearranging furniture in my room and packing my dad’s balikbayan boxes. My dad is going back home for the nth time, which really pisses me off but I don’t want to discuss it because it’s a hopeless case. He’s stubborn kasi.
I’m having coffee with Melizza tomorrow so we can talk about other people’s lives. Haha! Tsismosa ako eh, bakit ba?
Anyway, I can’t wait for next year so Beb and I can be together!
#29 ULTRAELECTROMAGNETICJAM!
Two words about the album launch: ‘YUN LANG!!!?
The Eraserheads, the greatest Pinoy band on earth, made a great comeback for just one night. Yes, my dear customers, the E-heads are back!
The Cover. Designed by lovebirds Arnold and Cynthia Arre.
Just their songs, mind you.
Organized by Jam 88.3, the album launch went okay. Though it looked like you’re watching a highschool battle of the bands. No DJ. No host or anybody on stage. There were lulls between each act. A jam-packed UP Theater.
All of us were anticipating a possible reunion of the Pinoy Fab Four. Even for just one night.
Only Marcus Adoro came.
But as advertised, we were treated to a night of musical nostalgia. 16 popular acts of this decade banded together in one album that shows how old the Eraserheads are
Kidding aside, the album is a must-buy for a die-hard fan. Here are some of my takes on each song. Oh, buy the album (and for krissakes, patronize Original Pinoy albums) and see if you’d agree with me:
- Alapaap performed by 6-Cycle Mind- Alapaap has secured its status as the best E-heads song. This track would effortlessly make any band sound great. Ang hanap ko nga lang sa version na ‘to yung elevating/ pulling feel. Nonetheless, it still sounds great.
- Magasin performed by Paolo Santos- You wouldn’t expect Paolo Santos singing a bastus song. You’d get to hear his gentle voice glorifying a boldstar
- Spoliarium performed by Imago- Definitely, the best track in this album. Imago’s cover captures the melancholic feel of this song…
Puede bang itigil mo na ang pag-ikot ng mundo?
Ang pag-ikot ng mundo
Ang pag-ikot ng mundo
Ang pag-ikot ng mundo
Ang galing nila. At ang ganda nung lead singer. Heehee. - Overdrive performed by Barbie Almalbis- Cutesy interpretation of the cradle-less Barbie. Puedeng puede.
- With A Smile performed by South Border- Hindi ko trip.
- Tikman performed by Sugarfree- One of my favorites in the album.
- Ligaya performed by Kitchie Nadal- “Ilang ahit pa ba ang aahitin, o giliw ko?” a girlish giggle from another reborn Christian chick. Kung marumi utak mo, matutuwa ka talaga.
- Torpedo performed by Isha- Ma-drama na kanta. Tungkol sa isang torpeng babae. At ngayon, mas hi-tech. Cellphone na ngayon ang binanggit imbes na beeper
- Superproxy performed by FRANCISM- In the original version, FM rapped in the last part of the song. This time FM raps but with ELY BUENDIA(!!?). When we learned that Ely Buendia appears in the album, my geek officemates started to think that the guys have patched up their differences and reunited. Oh well.
- Huwag Kang Matakot performed by Orange & Lemons- Maganda ‘to, pre. Ang ganda. ONL interprets the song in a malumanay way. You’ll find the back-up vocals singing Tikman and instrumentals of Julie Tearjerky in this track.
- Pare Ko performed by Sponge Cola- I’m no big fan of pogi bands (though, I could be part of one of ‘em. Hehehe.). Same as South Border. Ayoko.
- Huwag Mo Nang Itanong performed by MYMP- Another big favorite. The brother-sister tandem made this song very very very good. Parang gusto mong iuwi si Juris at pakilala kay mommy
- Hard To Believe performed by Cueshe- Boyband + Rock Band = POGI BAND. I’d have to agree with Papa Alan on his take on these new bands BUT after hearing this track a couple of times, it grows on you. OK na rin.
- Alcohol performed by Radioactive Sago Project- The Lourd has spoken. With a bottle of wine in hand, he gave a cuss-free performance during the album launch.
- Maling Akala performed by Brownman Revival- The song that started the revival of E-heads songs. When I first heard this song, I was waxing nostalgic. Ah, to be young again
- Ang Huling El Bimbo performed by Rico J. Puno- Para kang nag-videoke dito. Aside from the E-heads, we were also expecting Rico J.’s performance. Hayup. Wala siya. Fuck.
- Para Sa Masa performed by Various Artists- Di ko na masyadong pinakinggan ang track na ‘to. Parang dito na kasi nagsisimula ‘yung pagkakawatak-watak nila (E-heads)
Pwe.
Sulit ang album. Buy it
